ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly and open person who loves an adventure. I love to meet new people, have fun and learn about different cultures.

I love travelling and have really enjoyed solo travelling in the past. I solo traveled Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam in 2016 and 2017. These trips were unforgettable and I have a thirst to go travelling again.

In 2020, I started a photography course which I studied in the evenings after work. I've always enjoyed photography as a hobby so it was really enjoyable to learn about it more in depth. I especially enjoyed doing this as it was during lockdown in Ireland so it kept me busy during this time. I finished the course in May 2021. At the moment I like to shoot mainly with film. We were lucky to have a darkroom module where we learn to develop our film and make our own prints.

I love nature and taking time to appreciate the beauty around us. I was lucky to grow up in the countryside in the south west of Ireland where we are surrounded by beautiful nature and the Atlantic ocean. I love to go swimming and going for long walks and hiking.

I like to practice yoga although I need to practice more (!). I'm interested in spirituality also especially Buddhist teachings. A dream of mine would be to go to a retreat in India, and also just to travel in India alone would be amazing.

I'm a big music lover and love to go to music festivals and live music concerts. Some concerts I went to that to before the world shut down were Massive Attack, Stevie Wonder, Sinead O'Connor and Thievary Corporation. All of which were amazing! I love to share music and hear what others are listening to as its an opportunity to find new amazing music so lets share :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, experience new cultures. Although I couchsurfed only once in Mexico, I'm very eager to experience as I think it's a great way to meet new people. The time I couchsurfed in mexico was not through the platform, but through a friend of the hostel we were staying at and it was a lovely experience.
