Hello! My goal when travelling is not only to see the beauty the country has to offer but also to really get a feel for what it would be like to live there - I mean you never know when you'll want to pack your bags and move right?

I love opening myself up to new experiences and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I'm happiest when outdoors exploring, trying out new activities, waking up for sunrise or just sitting around a camp fire with a couple of beers, good friends and some music.

Me and my boyfriend, Max, (www.couchsurfing.com/people/maxwell-newton) had been speaking about planning a long trip away since we got together. We've done a lot of travelling in the last few years but have always wanted to just get up and go for several months and explore the World.

So, that's what led us here. We have finally planned our around the world trip. Island hopping in the Philippines, driving across Vietnam, non-stop adventuring around China, jumping on trains across Japan, discovering the Pacific Islands in Hawaii and finally campervanning around California.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of my favourite things about travelling is getting to know the local culture. I want more from a travel experience than to simply see all the tourist sights. I want to meet people who can teach me first hand about their home town. I want to delve a little deeper and have a more meaningful experience enjoying the local hidden treasures and getting off the beaten track.

I'd love to make friendships with people across the world from all walks of life and hear all the amazing adventures and life lessons every individual has had.

MOVIES - Basically any true story that revolves around sports. Superhero movies are always the best - Marvel over DC (apart from The Dark Knights, epic films). The Guardian is one of my favourite films. As long as it's not a horror, I will probably enjoy it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For 4 weeks I volunteered in South Africa working on a private game reserve. 4am wake ups, anti-poaching walks, chopping down trees, maintenance around the camp and evening safaris were the basis of our weekdays with weekends spent playing with the children in local orphanages and helping rebuild and paint local schools.
