ABOUT ME

I'm escaping the responsible daily grind that consumed my 20's and am off to see what this big world has to offer me in this new decade of life. There are too many things that fit my fancy to list here, but most involve playing outdoors (running, cycling, hiking, wandering, climbing...), indulging in great gab (with great friends and random strangers alike), and exploring new places (near and far). I look for a good balance of adventure and down time in my travels and am hoping to meet fun people to experience both with.

I'm a brand new member to Couchsurfing, but am looking forward to using this awesome resource! When returning from traveling for the next year abroad, I look forward to hosting folks and living vicariously through their travels :)

Interests

I've been used to sitting behind a desk holding onto my 2 weeks of annual vacation leave as if they were gold, paying an overpriced underwater mortgage, and contributing regularly to my retirement account. Sure, a bit backwards on the responsibility scale, but I'm excited to say that this next year will be spent jobless, traveling around the world, and doing my best to live this short life to the fullest. In terms of interests, I'm pretty easy to please! I've completed my fair share of marathons and triathlons, and am admittedly addicted to following international road cycling, as I have a brother in the pro peloton who I couldn't be more proud of. Indeed, I like being active. Looking forward to standing in great awe in new places, hiking through plenty of dirt, and bringing back a story or two for the record books during this next year of travel :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many to chose from, but visiting Machu Picchu and climbing Half Dome in Yosemite are certainly tops on my list. Watching my brother race in the professional peloton of cycling is also an ongoing major life highlight and proud sister experience :)
