Overview
About Me
I am a programmer that just started working in Johannesburg and an avid language learner. Traveling has always been one of my dreams and experiencing the language and the culture through first hand experience really excites me!
Besides being an aspiring polyglot, I am also very keen on learning random new skills, and having an awesome adventure in the process.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am planning my first trip abroad over this December with my girlfriend. Since we both are still young and just started working, we are very keen on making new friends and going on new adventures!
I definitely feel that there is no better way to experience the country than to interact with the locals.
Interests
One of my main hobbies are language learning, and I am looking forward to practicing them with native speakers.
I also recently started doing Parkour and am really enjoying the new challenge.
Some other random stuff I enjoy includes the collection of random skills such as Juggling, playing the Ukulele, Rubik's cube solving (cubing), and some sleight-of-hand magic. (Nerdlevel: over 9000!)
PS. I love beer!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I have a very wide range of music genres I find interesting, but some of my recent favorates are reggae(especially if it is played with a ukulele), anything by Linkin-Park, Dubstep, EDM, and Punk-Rock. I also enjoy some random pop or Hip-Hop in the languages I am learning.
Movies: Guardians of the Galaxy is the best movie ever made! And the Lord of The Rings a close second. Also a huge StarWars fan!
Reading: I'd rather watch a movie...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Learnt to snowboard in Italy... It may not sound like much, but being from Africa, this is a big deal!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I would love to share some language knowledge and experiences with hosts or guests, be it my native language(Afrikaans) or some of the languages I have been practicing (Includes some very limited knowledge of other African languages).
Learn: The language! And of course whatever else you are willing to teach!
Share: An awesome time, and perhaps a beer or two! And an authentic South-African Braai if the opportunity presents itself!
