About Me

I am a man with a degree in computer science that "left a good job in the city" to live the good life in the countryside when planning a family. My wife died in 2010 and afterwards i have raised my daughter alone. Got a job as a forwarder for a local company and is happy with the paychecks. In my sparetime i love to hike in the mountains, making good dinners with local ingredients and just being social with friends and family.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people and get to know about theire lives. Will think that couchsurfing makes a special kind of meeting ground that gives perspectives that I would not get as a hotelguest or from people just visiting my area and staying elsewhere. I would really like to meet up with people on my travels and i love to host people and get to know them a little better.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love almost all kind of music, but not techno and the meaningless music that i call "industry pop". Rock-music favourites are Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Bring me the horizon, Avenged sevenfold, Black Sabbath, Deep purple, Rainbow, AC/DC..... Do have a taste for classical music, specially opera.
Love to watch movies, and some of my favourite directors are Quintin Tarantino, Emir Kusturica and Nils Gaup. Do also have a guilty pleasure of liking the Godfather triology. Movies worth mentioning that is not directed by them are Idiotene and Biutiful.
Favourite authors include Fjodor Dostojevskii, Knut Hamsun, Arto Pasilinna and Alexandre Dumas. Would read anything but a book that changed me quite a bit was "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" by Robert Pirsig. We can discuss books for hours if you get me started.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raised my daughter!
If its just like one achivement it must be skiing across the wild and remote mountains here in the wintertime. It is amazing when the polarnight is here, but with special light in the sky.

Teach, Learn, Share

Think i know a lot about the local culture, and specially the history of the sami people. Do know a lot that is not so well known even in the local schools. I belive i have a good foundation for comparing different cultures because i have always been curious and in my travels i always seek out the minorities and indigenous people of the area.
