About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Visit all the places shown in Baraka.

ABOUT ME

About myself.. I am adventurous, laid back, open minded, like to try new things and meet new people.

My first experience surfing was a meeting, since then I have met a few folks in the city, both foreign and local.

I joined this year when a friend brought the site to my attention. Travelling is a lot of fun and Money permitting I want to do a lot more of it, as you may have guessed from my "mission". Money can be a problem and accomodation is just one less worry as I am sure everyone knows. A second and possibly more important reason is meeting new and nice people from all over the globe!

This is a very international affair, and I am now a small cog in the big machine we are all a part of.

PHILOSOPHY

Nothing in this world that's worth having comes easy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to show an interest in people, will host when possible, I have a big and wide couch, comfortable thing!

I haven't been very active in this place yet, but have met a few nice people and been to a few meetings, it was rewarding.

Soon I hope to start surfing, it should be a very nice experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have slept on the couch of one fellow surfer, but that wasnt really couchsurfing, we were just out in the city.

Other than that, I have not yet surfed but can not wait to start!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love almost all music and you will see my music collection reflect this.

As for reading I am not much of a book worm, but I do try and I enjoy audiobooks, there are some great ones out there! Cormac McCarthy is a great author. I have been trying to get some of the classics (brothers karamazov, all quiet on the western front, flowers for algernon and the like).

Movies now.. I like a lot but I'd have to say my favourite genres are scifi, adventure, action, comedy, thriller, non-fiction/autobiographical, romcom, in no particular order.

Ex.: Blade-runner, gladiator, snatch,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Checkpoint charlie in Berlin

Driving in Switserland I saw the waves of the aurora borealis high up in the mountains, flanked on either side, by a mountain, way off in the distance.

I jumped a cliff in France

Niagara falls, a spectacular border between two countries. I saw this from the Canadian side.

Amsterdam, the red light district, the moats, the culture and the people.

Edinburgh castle, old and very interesting!

Lake Eerie in Canada

Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland is amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn bits and pieces of new languages or new and fancy words of languages I already know.

What I can teach is a bit about my city, dutch culture and language and plenty more, or so I hope.

It would be nice to share some thoughts, adventures, sights, laughs with people from all over the world.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Malta, Netherlands, Scotland, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Netherlands
