About Me

It is actually more about us - my wife, my three children and me, because we, as a family, would like to be part of the couchsurfing community, in particular as a hosting family.
All of us have lived abroad individually, and we have all traveled a good part of the world, but there is still lots to see and many people to meet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's about meeting people, listening to interesting stories and different views of the world. We may want to be hosted at some point as well, but for us it is more about welcoming guests at our home.

Interests

I love to travel, learn new things in different countries, go off the beaten track (like go on family trips to Tibet, Iran or Africa), learn foreign languages, cook and enjoy good food, discover unknown wineries or microbreweries, and and and

Music, Movies, and Books

I like good music, whether it is classic, rock or soul. Sometimes I even listen to country (except for Taylor Swift - can't stand her voice). I love Thomas Mann, Dostojevski, but also nerdy stuff about statistics, economics or IT.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I found my wife, to whom I have been married for 23 years now.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We, as a family, would like to host - we have a big house and enough beds....Our teenage daughter who still lives with us, will have the last word though, whether we invite somebody to stay at the house or not, as she would share the bathroom with the guest(s).
