ABOUT ME

I like to daydream. I laugh often and smile even more. I like thinking about people and I love when they think about me. One of the best feelings is sending and receiving letters... I would like to do that more.

I'm an energy efficiency engineer and I thoroughly enjoy my work, which entails saving energy for high-rise commercial, residential, medical and industrial buildings. It gives me much pleasure to reduce energy consumption in Chicago and on the other end I love working in my garden and sewing my own clothes.

I like people who work hard and recognize when they are being hypocritical. Also, a sense of humor is key in life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well... I'm just starting. I started a profile last year, but was attending school at the time and nobody really wanted to visit Dayton, Ohio. I came back to this site once I moved to Chicago a few months ago and have met a few people for drinks and/or shared bountiful itinerary tips! I hope to enjoy my first surfing experience next month when I visit Europe. When I return I plan to talk my roommate into the idea backed by the strong proof that I lived to tell about it... boast about it, rather.

Interests

I love to read, garden, cook, engineer things, write poetry, take pictures, sew and go to hear music with friends. Chicago has been a great venue for all of these hobbies and keeps me busy and happy!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Independence Pass in the Rocky Mountains, Colorado... breathtaking view. Driving along the mountain ridge inspired much admiration for those who had passed that way in covered wagons.

Concerts that shook me to my core: The Strokes at Lollapalooza 2010... same with Arcade Fire that year, Sigur Ros, and Andrew Bird on my birthday in 2009!

I attend a poetry slam each Sunday night at the Green Mill in Chicago and there have been several nights where I have left stripped raw by words I couldn't begin to piece together.
