About Me

Born and raised in Manchuria, China, I've been told that "Knowledge is the power" since I was a child. Perusing a higher education has been my dream, so I took the chance studying abroad in the U.S.. The experience helps me to understand different cultures and perspectives about what the world is really like. And from there, I’ve become a traveler.

“Please be a traveler, not a tourist. Try new things, meet new people, and look beyond what’s right in front of you. Those are the keys to understanding this amazing world we live in.”
Andrew Zimmern

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend that I met in Vietnam told me about his experience of Couchsurfing in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam has been a big success, so I tried it out and found out I really enjoyed the first experience of being a surfer myself; maybe it’s time to give it back by hosting other backpackers from all over the world. In my opinion, one of the most interesting things to do while traveling is to hear and share our “little stories”with others. Couchsurfing can make that happen by hosting other CSers, and that’s why I’m doing it.

Interests

You can learn more by traveling a thousand miles than reading a thousand books, and doing both is what I’ve been trying to do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I served as the president of Chinese Student Association back in college, we collaborated with the Southeast Asian Club (Students who are from Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand) for lunar new year event. it was a big success, and that’s how I met those amazing friends who motivated me to backpacking for the first time in Southeast Asia.

Teach, Learn, Share

Language is the key of communication. I speak Chinese and English, and learning more languages is what I've always wanted to do. Maybe we can learn from each other, if that's something you like to do too.

I’m also a certificated yoga teacher and a local tour guide. I can teach you some yoga Mantras and poses which will help you with improving your physical body and refreshing your mind. If you’re visiting Seattle and happened to meet me, I can also take you to explore downtown Seattle as well as the the national parks in Washington state.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with the hosts about Chinese culture and how studying abroad experience led me to becoming a world traveler (or at least trying to be a world traveler lol.) Moreover, I can tell you about many interesting places that I've been to and lots of the interesting things that I’ve experienced along the way.

Countries I’ve Visited
