About Me

My name is Lu, I was born and raised in Manchuria, China. As a teenager, I had the opportunity to study abroad in the U.S. and Spain. The experience allowed me to embrace different cultures and worldviews. And from there, I’ve become a traveler.

One of my favorite quotes:
“Please be a traveler, not a tourist. Try new things, meet new people, and look beyond what’s right in front of you. Those are the keys to understanding this amazing world we live in.”
Andrew Zimmern

Interests

I love outdoor activities. 🎣🚣‍♂️🏊‍♂️
My favorite thing to do in the summer is going camping with my friends because I get to do all of those at once.
I’m a big foodie, and I love going out to eat with friends. And being a foodie also turned me to a great cook! 👨‍🍳🍳 I love cooking and sharing food with others!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I served as the president of Chinese Student Association back in college, we collaborated with the Southeast Asian Club (Students who are from Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand) for lunar new year event. it was a big success, and that’s how I met those amazing friends who motivated me to backpacking for the first time in Southeast Asia. Ever since I've got the taste of it, I've become addicted to travel!
In 2017, I spent $0 dollars backpacking in India for two months, learned yoga and got my yoga teacher certificate. Ask me how?! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

"Si hablas el idioma el mundo no es tan grande. " Learning new languages always gives an insight into other cultures. I speak Chinese and English, and learning more languages is what I've always wanted to do. I started learning Spanish during the pandemic, and improving my Spanish is my primary goal of this trip in Latin America. I’d be nice to meet new friends and learn the language and culture from each other.

I’m also a certified yoga teacher and a local tour guide. I can teach you some yoga Mantras and poses which will help you with improving your physical body and refreshing your mind. If you’re visiting China and happened to be in my city, I can also take you to explore the city as well as trying out the local food!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with the hosts about Chinese culture and how studying abroad experience led me to becoming a world wanderer.
I can tell you about many interesting places that I've been to and lots of the interesting things that I’ve experienced along the way. We can also practice yoga and meditation together, as well as cook food and share recipes with each other!
