About Me

Hey everyone! My name is Hao and I spent a majority of my life in Woburn, MA. I turned 21 years old last June and am finishing my senior year at the University of Massachusetts in scenic Amherst, MA. When I'm not studying for a degree in Food Science, I ask people about their life stories, eat something new and fresh, have secret dance battles with strangers, or rap poorly.

I'm very reserved but love to meet new people. I was able to travel to DC last summer for my internship at Sweetgreen's test kitchen in Dupont and Portland, OR for my 21st birthday with my sister. This summer I am participating in a program called Bike & Build where I will be raising money for the affordable housing cause, biking across America and building houses along the way! I'm trying to make the best of my opportunities and really want to continue to expose myself to personalities and characters!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been going home for all my spring breaks and wanted to take the last spring break as an opportunity to travel solo. After going to Portland, I really have a desire to travel out west! Seattle, San Francisco and Denver are the 3 cities I've been actively interested in and am hoping to spend a week balancing costs and expenses while still making a great memory in 1 of the 3 cities.

Interests

I really enjoy meeting new people. I ran cross country in high school and still run actively today. I enjoy being outside, hikes, and around landscapes. I'm hoping biking across America will satisfy my hunger for travel and activities.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot of non-fiction: The Upcycle by William McDonough, Happiness by Matthieu Ricard, and Cooked by Michael Pollan are books I've read recently.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A great personality!
