About Me
ABOUT ME
My home is not IN Calgary. We are in a small town 40 minutes west with limited public transportation. Best for travellers with a vehicle.
I am Happy and always smiling! I try to make the best of all situations and laugh at the rough bits. 50 years young, nature lover, mushroom hunter, avid traveller, mum, military wife and communications superintendent !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people and see new things
Interests
travel and international quisine. And if I can be surrounded by trees I am in heaven! I get outside as much as possible hiking, biking, and camping in the summer and snowshoing, DH +XC skiing in the winter :)
my other interests include geology (I like rocks and dirt and am usually taking mental note of what I’m surrounded by),
the sun, space weather and the aurora borealis ( if I’m not working the next day and the aurora is forecast to be good, my camera and I will be having a late night together),
plants of all sorts ( I truly enjoy seeing and learning about plants, trees, local crops in all my destinations)
Mushrooms! Don’t roll your eyes at me... it’s like a treasure hunt every time in the woods. I have too many books about mushrooms.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you have a fruit tree to prune I can show you how. I may be able to share knowledge of fruit and veg gardening as well.
I can teach you about wild edible mushrooms too!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well, if there is something wrong with your cable tv, internet, or telephone, I might be able to help you out! I’ve got over 10 years experience as a cable tech.
I like to share experiences of my own travels and can cook a decent meal for my hosts if they choose:)
