ABOUT ME

I Have been involved with CS for about 4 years now and any community whose mission statement begins "making a better world......." is a community for me.
I am an anti-establishmentarian who has been a bit mainstreamed with career

Stay young in spirit, heart and my personal evolution.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Member over 2 years. I have had the pleasure of hosting a couple dozen people from the U.S. and abroad. I have now surfed a few times and am grateful to my hosts. I am excited to do some bigger trips and really tap into the CS community. I am more thrilled and excited about CS as time and experience grow! I love it, even being primarily a host so far. I share the vision of a better world community, one couch at a time and by any means necessary!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My primary couch surfing experience has been being taken in ad hoc (not through CS) while traveling, usually when traveling solo and simply (as opposed to staying in comfortable inns). Many great stories. Now I have been a host many times through CS and a surfer occasionally. I love the trust and openness and have had only positive experiences.

Interests

Playing outside. Skiing (anything that slides on snow); biking; hiking; climbing; splashing about (in or out of boats); I don't prefer recreation involving internal combustion, particularly if the machine is the focus. I like movies, thought, conversation and yoga.

Open minded

Recommend "The Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1989 solo self contained bike tour down the West Coast of Europe; camping in a snow cave on the boundary of Valle' Nevado, Chile and ski bumming the area and climbing El Plomo a non-descript peak next door which was none the less my highest point on Terra Firma; skiing the summits of most of the Cascade Volcanoes;
climbing the Grand Teton; survived an affliction and been willing to grow and heal

Teach, Learn, Share

The best lessons I have to share are in remaining a student of life and one's endeavors. I can teach many things about being in the our of doors although I don't have much in the science and biology of it all. I can share lessons about persistence, faith and never giving up, on self, on others, on goodness, on light, on possibilities, on dreams
