About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To get as much stamps in my passport before it expires in 2015!!
ABOUT ME
I just recently moved from Manila to Yangon for work (so don't expect me to know lots about Myanmar). And I must say this is the boldest move I have made so far! I've always wanted to travel a lot and I believe this move takes me closer to that direction. Moving here sort of gave me the license to slow down because the way of life is just so different. During my year long of stay here, I'm looking forward to visiting the other states of Myanmar and if possible, traveling to the neighboring countries, like Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. :)
PHILOSOPHY
I don't anymore remember where I got this quote, but it strongly resonated how I'm trying to live my life then. "Never regret anything because at that point, it was exactly what you wanted." This has been my mantra for a while. I've resigned myself to going for whatever makes me happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining, my closest encounter with Couchsurfing was during our Public Speaking class back in college when one of my good friends/classmate talked about the idea. Back then, it already seemed like an interesting concept. But I never gave it much thought until recently when I moved to Myanmar by myself. So this is definitely new for me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a big fan of rom-coms cos I think, deep inside, I'm really a hopeless romantic. I used to like horror movies but since I started living alone, I've crossed them out of my list. I'm not a big book reader, but I try to read once in a while, especially when I get them as gifts. But I mostly prefer non-fiction (such as autobiographies, memoirs, self-helps) over fictional ones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Surfing the waters in La Union even when I didn't know how to swim! I almost drowned then, but the experience of riding the waves the first time was intense! It was a major achievement for me!
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH. I can teach you how to speak English and Filipino! My Burmese is a work-in-progress so I'm sorry I can't help you there yet. But I can tell you where you can shop for souvenirs from Myanmar (which is just a bus ride away from my place). :)
LEARN. I'd really love to learn how to speak Burmese! And know all the best places to visit here in Myanmar, from tourist spots to holes-in-the-wall!
SHARE. If you're a foreigner traveling to Yangon, I can share with you my Yangon City Guide Book while you're here! :D I think it's helpful when you plan on exploring the streets or commuting alone (real ones, hailing a cab not counted). And if you already have planned itineraries, I can even join you on weekends! We can explore this place together!
