CURRENT MISSION
Live! Laugh! Love!
ABOUT ME
I consider myself a "student of life," meaning that I hope I never stop learning, growing, and experiencing life to its fullest. I feel that just one lifetime is too short a time to see, do, and experience everything I wish I could -- but I intend to do my best to try!
I've lived all over the US and traveled all over everywhere else that I can get -- but the more places I visit, the more I discover that I'd like to see, so the list keeps growing instead of shortening.
At home, I enjoy time with family and friends, reading, music (I play the piano and sing), hiking and running (I'm one of those crazy marathoners), and learning new things.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm right on board with Confucious's teaching that "our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we do." We're all human, and if we help each other out, we can discover untold hidden strengths and talents.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm excited at the chance to open my heart and my home to others, the way perfect strangers have taken me under their wings so many times in the past while I was traveling (often alone and clueless). It's a great way to meet people, and to confirm that this world is full of so much more goodness than all the bad things we hear in the news.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm relatively new to couch-surfing; I've been drawn to the program by the wonderful informal opportunities I've had to meet new people and make lifelong friends while traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been blessed by too many amazing experiences to capture in writing -- this world is full of so many truly amazing people, places, and experiences!
Teach, Learn, Share
A heartbreaking divorce taught me so many things, emphasizing the importance of family and friends during our darkest hours. I learned that "when you pray for patience, God doesn't give you patience -- but the opportunity to be patient; if you ask for courage, God gives you the opportunity to be courageous..."; and in the end I wound up more convinced than ever that everything happens for a reason... even if we can't for the life of us at the time figure out what that reason possibly could be. Life goes on... and it keeps getting better!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to swap travel tales and hear about others' experiences (both good and bad)... Every new person we meet is a potential friend, and the more friends we make, the smaller this great world becomes!
