CURRENT MISSION
Nomadic mastery.
ABOUT ME
Living on Capitol Hill in Seattle, Washington after living in Philadelphia for 2 years. I thrive on spontaneity and good conversations, whether they are existential, or about sloths, or pop-culture, or favorite sandwich combinations. I like growing and cooking food, drinking and cackling, trading skills and stories, climbing and getting covered in dirt.
I've been working in the restaurant and bar industry for 6 years, so have a huge appreciation for good food/booze. However looking to get back to gardening, sustainable thinking, teaching, etc. by going back to school.
Looking for couches, advice, activity partners, destinations, hosts, wizards.
PHILOSOPHY
“This I believe: That the free, exploring mind of the individual human is the most valuable thing in the world. And this I would fight for: the freedom of the mind to take any direction it wishes, undirected. And this I must fight against: any idea, religion, or government which limits or destroys the individual.” -John Steinbeck
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Even if I can't offer a place to crash, always down the spend a day exploring, having drinks, grabbing snacks, seeing shows.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Haven't formally hosted through CS, but have had many a friend spend anywhere from 2 days to 2 months on my couch. Also have had wonderful friends let me stay with them overnight and for short term occasions while traveling. I'll make you killer whisky potatoes. And leave cute doodles in your house.
Intereses
Anything pickled, fermented, preserved, brewed, canned, sprouted, or cured. I love food and food science. It is not out of the ordinary for me to spend an entire day off in the kitchen. Also rather devoted to learning/practicing herbal medicine, so always down to geek out about plants.

Música, películas y libros
Tendency to bite off more than I can chew...currently in the middle of Kim by Rudyard Kipling, The Bhagavad Gita, and Made from Scratch: Reclaiming the Pleasures of the American Hearth by Jean Zimmerman. I love John Steinbeck, Ray Bradbury, Sandoor Katz, David Sedaris, and Phillip Pullman (oh yes, he definitely is the guy that wrote The Golden Compass).
I listen to a lot of talk radio and podcasts. TED Talks, NPR, This American Life, Pete Holmes' "You Made It Weird," Duncan Trussell's "Family Hour," Erin McGathy's "This Feels Terrible," and Harmontown. Big soft spot for stand-up.
I listen to everything and anything. Really. I've been listening to a lot of The Weeknd, Miguel, Justin Timberlake, Sleep, Frank Ocean, The Sword, The Bronx, Electric Wizard, The Black Angels.
Algo increíble que he hecho
Slept in a teepee in the middle of a sheep field in Michigan, taught North Philadelphia middle schoolers about growing a school garden, got the same group of kids to get excited about worms and chicken poop, met a man named Monty Montgomery that taught me about wild mushrooms in North Carolina, went skinny-dipping in Kalamazoo and The Poconos in PA, made friends with a real Mummer, lived in a yurt for two months without electricity, camped in a sand pit, saw The Bronx play on a boat on the Hudson River.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I could talk for days about gardening, space, craft beer, and Joan Rivers. Would love to learn about whittling and ceramics.
