Music, Movies, and Books

I can play the tablas which goes along well if you want to have any chant sessions.

Books - Conversation With God trilogy ; it’s the most memorable and powerful text I’ve read outside of scripture and it’s stayed with me since teenage years. After that I like Essence Gospel Of Peace. Also 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People and The Four Agreements.

Music - Nirinjan Kaur Khalsa, Leonard Cohen, Bill Withers; Lovely Day and Just The Two Of Us, LP; Lost On You, Maneskin; Beggin (I like all versions of this song), Nunca Es Suficiente, Imagine Dragons; Believer, Long Train Running by Doobie Brothers, Let’s Live For Today by Grass Roots, Acyuta Gopi, Satinder Sartaj, Daljit Dosanjh’s Dharmik songs, Shukar Dateya.

Movie - Deadpool, Braveheart, Anchorman, Meet Joe Black, What The Bleep Do We Know, Avengers, Watchmen, Bandit Queen, Ashoka. YouTube: The Why Files.

Side note: I was born in the city where Netflix show Breaking Bad was filmed. Never thought there’d be tourist buses in my home town!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Golden Temple in Amritsar India is a one of a kind. I went to high school on the outskirts of the city and spent a lot of time there.

I’ve been sky diving once (haven’t bungee jumped yet).

Teach, Learn, Share

I was born and raised in a Sikh community that practice yoga. Part of my high school curriculum in India was yoga teacher training. I’ve always been interested in spiritual subjects and especially the intersection between Sikhi and yoga which is a subject that I’ve produced original translations from history texts.

My professional career has been about story telling where I’ve made audio and animated stories that preserve culture and teach lessons. I have a deep interest in Sikh history.

I’ve also led workshops on Bhangra dance and given talks on emanations of the divine mother in different cultures.

I like to learn tongue twisters in different languages. I intend to learn guitar and to read in Arabic script but I haven’t gotten around to those two yet. A little guitar actually.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I tell stories for a living. I like sharing spiritual stories.

I’ve been know to throw ‘parantha parties’. Aloo Parantha (potato stuffed chapati) is my favorite food and I’m happy to cook it any time.

I also do Chinese folk healings with Gua Sha and for a lighter touch I do muscle pulse healing which is very relaxing. Happy to offer such to friends and hosts at any time.

I can also lead yogic breathing, chanting and meditations sessions.
