Obviously, I am completely new to Couchsurfing ! Allow me introduce myself, My name is Harley and it's a grand pleasure to meet you. (Feel free to read as much as you would like about me c; )

I have never travelled much due to financial barriers since moving to the United States from the Philppines at 5 years old, but now I am more ready than ever to travel the world, meet new people, and learn as much as I can from worldwide cultures 🌍

I'm currently studying French, Spanish, and Global Studies at San Diego Mesa College. My interests come from my passion of watching and following professional football, and I cannot wait to watch the world cup this summer! 🗺🏆

My goal whenever I travel is to basically just live in the moment. I am never preoccupied or thinking about long-term problems, rather, I am taking the opportunity to talk to the person sitting next to me to potentially make a new friend. When I start to run out of things to do, I research places to go where I can appreciate the arts, sceneries or cultures that the place has to offer.

I am only 18 years old, so I clearly have much more to learn about this beautiful world, so I hope I get to meet many wonderful people that will show me on the right path to these immersions 😄

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here to meet new people during my voyage this summer while I travel in Europe for the very first time (:

My professors in the United States have told me many wonderful things to do during my travels, like visiting historic sites, going to museums, hiking, and so much more! I want to share these moments with other people and not alone! I will be in France and Spain from July 14th to August 21st, so hopefully I can find some amazing people to guide me! 😄

Interests

Most of these interests, I inherited from my family and closest friends in the United States (:

My father taught me how to surf while I was in elementary school, and Ive loved the water ever since. 🌊

I first developed my passion for football when I first played it during school with my friends when I was 8 years old. I am absolutely addicted to the sport! I loved playing it with my clubs when I was little and I still try to play despite my devotion to school right now. My favorite teams are Chelsea FC 🔵 & Olympique de Marseille. Hopefully that doesn't ruin my chances of meeting you! 😅

I have a wonderful girlfriend named Vanessa and I am so lucky to have her in my life ❤ She introduced me to partner Dancing like Bachata, Salsa, and Zouk 💃🕺Our mutual friends and us love to hang out, hike and go out to eat drink, and just enjoy life as college students 🤙

The 18 years of my life in a nutshell:

I was born in Olongapo City in the Philippines and grew up in Morong Bataan. I have visited major cities like Manila, Bagiau, and Subic Bay

At 5 years old, my father brought my family to San Diego to live a better life with more opportunities. I have been to San Francisco, Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Los Angeles. I currently study at San Diego Mesa College and I hope to transfer to UC Berkeley, University of San Diego, or Georgetown University. I will be studying abroad this summer for the first time this summer to experience as much life as possible for a future potential career(:
