Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Harmen from Indonesia 🇮🇩
I’m currently working as a high school teacher in Klaten, Central Java. I’m passionate about education, culture, and meaningful conversations. For me, learning doesn’t only happen in the classroom — it also happens through traveling and meeting people from different backgrounds.
I’m married and have a small family. Most of the time, I travel together with my wife and children. We love cultural experiences, local food, simple adventures, and meeting kind people from around the world. Traveling as a family teaches us tolerance, respect, and appreciation of diversity.
As a person, I’m open-minded, respectful, and easy-going. I enjoy discussing culture, education, social issues, and life perspectives. In my free time, I like reading, drawing, watching movies, listening to music, and outdoor activities.
As a host or guest, I value trust, cleanliness, communication, and mutual respect. If you stay with us, we can share stories over coffee or tea, explore local spots in Klaten or nearby Yogyakarta, and exchange experiences about our cultures and family life.
We are a simple family who believes that friendship has no borders.
Looking forward to meeting kind and respectful travelers from around the world.

How I Participate in Couchsurfing
I’m here to connect with people from different cultures and build meaningful friendships.
I believe Couchsurfing is not just about accommodation — it’s about sharing stories, perspectives, and experiences. As a teacher and a family man, I value respect, trust, and cultural exchange.
Sometimes I travel with my wife and children, so we truly appreciate kind and family-friendly hosts. We also enjoy hosting respectful travelers when possible.
Interests
I love music, especially jazz, RnB, and slow rock. I really enjoy live concerts, especially jazz performances.
I enjoy traveling with my family, exploring new cultures, local food, and nature. Hiking and light outdoor activities are always exciting for us.
I also love cooking! I used to work as a chef in the past, so sometimes I enjoy preparing meals and sharing Indonesian food with friends
