About Me

Hello, I’m Fernandez, founder of Gampong Living by Harmiando, a private cultural villa experience in Aceh, Indonesia.

I believe travel should be more than sightseeing it should be about meaningful connection, cultural respect, and authentic human encounters.

Through Couchsurfing, I would love to connect with open-minded travelers who value culture, heritage, and deeper understanding of local life. My intention is not only to host, but to create a genuine cultural exchange where both sides learn and grow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to host selected travelers for free and offer them a truly special experience of Aceh beyond conventional tourism.

In return, I hope to build meaningful friendships and connect with people who appreciate cultural depth. If they love the experience, perhaps they will share it with the world and help introduce Aceh and Gampong Living to a global audience.

For me, Couchsurfing is not about business. It’s about trust, cultural diplomacy, and long-term global connection.

Interests

I welcome travelers who are open-minded, respectful of local traditions, and genuinely curious about culture and history.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am quite open to music from various languages as long as it has a great beat!

I love movies that make you think and has great visuals. One of my favourite movies of all time is Inception :)

I read a lot as a child and I am drawn to fantasy and love imagination, but sadly I don't read as much nowadays although I still feel drawn to books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve done

One of the most amazing things I’ve done is building a life that connects adventure, culture, and entrepreneurship across continents.

I’ve traveled through Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and America, not just exploring places, but building relationships, understanding different markets, and learning directly from local communities. Along the way, I’ve met incredible people from all backgrounds, shared stories, created collaborations, and expanded my perspective far beyond borders.

Coming from Aceh with a Portuguese heritage, studying International Relations, and now working remotely with a company in the Netherlands, I’ve shaped my journey around global thinking and cultural connection.

But what makes it truly amazing is this:
I didn’t just travel the world,I turned those experiences into vision, network, and purpose. Adventure taught me resilience. Culture taught me respect. And entrepreneurship taught me how to create opportunities anywhere in the world.

For me, the most amazing thing isn’t how far I’ve traveled it’s how I’ve transformed every journey into growth.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn1: find a balance, relax.
Learn2: it would be cool if you could teach me to cook an exotic dish (French, Italian, Asian,Mexican...). I´d like to learn how to prepare tea and all about it (history, how it´s served in your area, etc.). I love cooking and eating,
I guess I can share with you the last my experience,We can as well just talk normally about things. Tell my what you like to read or what music you listen to and I will be happy.
