About Me

Travel across America selling Handicrafts I designed in Bali Indonesia

I have traveled in more than 110 countries during my very wonderful life. My favorite countries have been India, Zaire, and Indonesia where I have been many times while purchasing antiques, handicrafts and jewelry which I have sold in shops throughout America. In 1978 I stopped traveling for a short while and did transformational work that give me new energy and cleaned out the cobwebs from the past. In 1999 I returned to University and eventually got 3 degrees in English Literature, Arts Application and an MA in International Studies. I have devoted my life to improving the living and working standards of crafts men and women in many different countries by offering commissions and purchasing their work for sale to my customers throughout the US. I have spent the last 4 years producing crafts in South East Asia, Cambodia and Indonesia which I am now in the US to promote.

Contributing to making better world if only in a small satisfying way perhaps a little at a time maybe each and every day making others smile sharing my values when life gets tough is all very important to me. I think that possibly the Universe is just one big rock and who we are everyday is what really matters and that we respect others and make life a little bit more simple for all is what my life is about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the CS Project is a great way to reach into the real world without going anywhere at the same time, for those who are generous couch givers. For myself I get to engage with others, contribute my life experiences which I love doing anyway and get help about selling my crafts in your neighborhood from someone who is an expert in your community, you. As I travel throughout the world making connections and having conversations I find exchanging life's most enlightening moments keeps us all young, vibrant and positively present to what life is all about, enjoying the journey and lightening the load of others.

I am new to couch surfing and I look forward to passing on the generousity of helping out others to those who I come in contact with in and out of couch surfing. I meet many fellow travelers during my journeys in the world and I want to share those experiences to others who are interested. I have recently spent a lot of time on the island of Bali, Indonesia. Bali is primarily a Hindu population inside a muslim country. Bali has kept its religious ceremonials of dance, theater, offering, bright and colorful dress and ornimentaltion very much alive. Its a joy to observe Balinese ceremony and enjoy the good spirits of the Balinese people. Each of us have many interesting stories about our families, travels, encounters being alive that makes for fascinating interactions among fellow earthbound travelers. Helping out others with experiences coaching, planning new adventures and creating new stories with our lives is what essential couch surfing is about for me.

Classical music, sharing my life with others in casual settings, great movies, quiet beaches in low price countries, designing clever crafts in paper mache, traveling in countries that have great food, meeting people from faraway lands, planning new travels, viewing art in major museums, riding in trains, reading fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in Kabul Afghanistan in 1974 the day they overthrew the King and replaced him with someone who the people were happy to have as their leader, it was a joyous occasion to be in a heretofore wonderful country for traveling that is!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share a unique knowledge of the world from my own experience and where in the world are great places to visit and I want to learn about jewelry making, owning your own businesses and developing wonderful websites
