About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore as many out-of-the-way places as possible.
ABOUT ME
I currently live and work in Norfolk, Va. I first went abroad in 2007, to Germany, and loved seeing and experiencing new palces. I studied in Jordan for a semester, and explored several countries in the region while there. My favorite place I've visited is Istanbul, closely followed by the Rhine River Valley in Germany. I love talking with people when traveling, whether locals or other travelers, and I enjoy trying to see the world within their (often quite different) context.
Interests
I love reading, first and foremost, especially books about traveling, history, and foreign affairs. I also enjoy cooking and eating, and will try pretty much anything new once. I grew up in the woods, love being outside, and thoroughly enjoy hiking and canoeing (although I don't do either nearly as often as I would like). I also despise mushrooms.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Found a family member's grave-site at the World War Two British Commonwealth Cemetery in El Alamein, Egypt, where he was killed in 1942.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a fairly decent cook, and thoroughly enjoy it. I can read, write and speak fairly well in German, and very basically in Arabic. I study foreign affairs, and try to be as up to date on them as possible.
