I'm Harry, from Cardiff (the capital city of Wales), and a recent history graduate from the University of Reading. Currently living the dream on my post uni gap year, going to Canada, the USA, Germany/Austria, Australia, New Zealand and anywhere else that takes my fancy.

I absolutely love traveling, and seriously caught the bug when I was on my semester abroad at the University of Ottawa in Canada. I'm always determined to assimilate into wherever I find myself, I really hate touristy spots, so I'm always looking out for the things that only locals know about.

I have some friends who have had a really positive experience on Couchsurfing, so thought I'd be mad not to sign up. I love experiencing new places in the same way as locals, seeing the places that most tourists might miss out on, and Couchsurfing seems to be the perfect way to do that.

I'm sports obsessed, huge fan of rugby, cricket and tennis, but also skiing, athletics, cycling and rowing. I also got quite into ice hockey during my semester abroad in Canada.

One of my favourite things to do when I find myself somewhere new is trying out the local food and drinks, finding independent coffee shops and cafes, and the best bars. I currently work as a bartender so I love seeing what drinking culture is like in different parts of the world.

I have a really eclectic taste in music, and I'm always looking for new artists to listen to.

Current playlist consists mainly of downtempo/minimalist electro like cln, Feki, Flume etc. Also a big fan of hip hop stuff like Chance the Rapper, Childish, Mac Miller, RTJ, and indie/blues/psych rock such as Wild Animals, Tame Impala, Black Keys...so all sorts!

Having spent three years at uni with little time for reading anything other than history books, I'm currently trying to read as much classic lit as possible. Favourites so far are 1984, Catcher in the Rye, Grapes of Wrath, and On The Road.

I'll always love history books though, my absolute favourite was written by one of my lecturers, its about how artistic attitudes towards the countryside in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries shaped British life...sounds terrible I know, but I'm a nerd at heart.

I've just spent a month traveling around New Zealand, North and South Islands, and completely fell in love with what has to be the most beautiful country I've ever visited.

My five week trip around Canada and the USA summer 2015 was the first time I tried Couchsurfing, and it was honestly one of the most positive experiences I've ever had. I met incredible people from around the world, saw some fantastic places, and simply had a brilliant time living like a local. I'm now so excited to repay the favour and allow other travellers to have the same amazing time that I did.

I've found people around the world often don't know that much about Wales, its history, culture, or language. Would love to teach people more about one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and maybe some of my very limited Welsh.

I'm pretty decent in the kitchen, or at least my housemates seem to think so, would be more than willing to cook any hosts a meal as a small thank you.
