About Me

I’m taking a break from 26 December 2025!

About me:
Born and raised in a small town called Sungai Petani, in the state of Kedah, Malaysia. My hometown is also close to Penang, about a 35-minute drive. I definitely recommend anyone to visit Penang for its rich and diverse food scene!

I lived in the Klang Valley (the Kuala Lumpur area) for five years during my studies and for a little over a year while working, before moving to Singapore for my current job. I chose to live in Johor Bahru (JB), the southern gateway to Malaysia and commute to Singapore daily for work.

My INTERESTS:
I am open to new experiences. I love outdoor activities like hiking, nature walks, cycling; café hunting, cooking, learning about new cultures and mobile photography.

I can host in JB, Malaysia if I'm available and not too busy. If you are coming over on weekdays, I will probably spend less time with you due to work and commuting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A great platform to make new friends, share ideas and exchange travel experiences, cultures and knowledge.
Sometimes, I can be your friendly guide when I’m around. I’m happy to drive you to nearby places and sometimes, even further if time permits.
I can host in JB if my place still available, a city closer to Singapore.

Here some notes for your journey before arriving to my place:

If coming to JB from Singapore:

Take note that my place is located about 21 km away from JB town/immigration and it’s about a 40-min drive. If by flight, it’s about 19 km from Senai Airport and a 25-min drive in non-peak hours. GrabCar is ideal for transport but you can also take a bus (there’s no direct bus to my place, Mutiara Rini) or hitchhike which takes longer as long you have enough time.

If coming from central/north (KL/Malacca/Penang):

By bus:
The nearest bus station is Tunku Tun Aminah (TUTA) Bus Terminal, about 5 km away from my place.
Landmark: Opposite Mydin Mutiara Rini (hypermarket)
You may google this place for your forward planning.

However, Larkin Bus Terminal is the main hub bus station in JB, about 18 km away from my place.

If you come from KL/Malacca by local express bus, you can choose to alight at Sri Putri Petron Petrol Station and take a GrabCar to my place. Usually, express buses go to Larkin Terminal first and then to TUTA Terminal. Since the main road to Larkin and back to TUTA via Jalan Skudai/Skudai Highway usually experiences heavy traffic during peak hours and on weekends, it will take up a lot of your time (likely 1-2 hours extra). If you don’t mind, you can follow the bus route; otherwise, you can alight at the earlier location I mentioned and pay a bit extra for GrabCar or taxi (likely around MYR 10) or try hitchhike.
