ABOUT ME

I studied psychology at the university of Jordan, my three passions are science: psychology to see into the human mind, philosophy to open my mind to the big questions, and archeology to understand the history of being. I feed this passion by reading a lot of books, hosting dinners for professors and intellectuals and doing my own little crazy projects.

My main work is as founder and chairman of the Scientific Culture Society, a nonprofit organization that works on improving science education and encouraging the application of the scientific method in daily life. Our Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/science.culture.society

I have always loved to travel, my first time was with my grandmother to Syria: busy, crowded country. Then when I was 15 years old I got a scholarship to live with a host family in the USA. Lucky for me, the family loved to travel as well; So I lived in Oregon State, visited California, Washington State, Washington DC, NY and Boston. I learned so much there and understood the importance and beauty of diversity.
When I was 18 I went to Russia for a month and saw the other side of the spectrum. And finally, a week in Egypt which was just pure tourism.

I like cats but I'€™m a dog person, I just love their personalities and the love they share. But because I'€™m mostly into research, I know a lot about Chimpanzees, Bonobos and Orangutans :)

PHILOSOPHY

My logic tells me that humans are neither good nor bad; they are defined by their past history, actions and society out of other things. But I tell my logic to be quiet and I like to think that people have this basic goodness in them.
I see life as an amazing cosmic event that we should enjoy.
I live in Jordan therefore I am Jordanian, but I like to think of myself as first and foremost a Human who belongs to this really big group called "Humanity" and strive to meet as many great humans as possible.

I watch many movies, but I love documentaries more :)

Books:
The Divine Comedy, Sophie's World, Agatha Christie in general but I like "And then there were none" the most, Carl Sagan's writings, Douglas Adams, The Odyssey of Homer, Bertrand Russell and many other writers, I'm the proud owner of a great collection of books

Music:
I'm very much into Classical music and the Opera, especially Andre bocelli and Madam Anne Sofie von Otter :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some history and science and how to cook Tacos.
I want to learn about how other people live and think.
