About Me

CURRENT MISSION

VERMONT IS BEAUTIFUL

ABOUT ME

I'm very chatty, but respectful of personal space and privacy. Honest, and fair, expecting the same from others.

PHILOSOPHY

Not so keen on philosophy, and I'll just leave it at that.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted many people when we lived in Athens, Greece. Not so active these days.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Enjoyed hosting.

Interests

Libraries, bookshops, cooking (especially spicy hot Thai, Mexican, Ethiopian, Indian food) So my weakness is not shoes or clothes, but books, kitchen utensils, and spices. Enjoy rummaging around in 2nd hand shops and flea markets. I love dogs and have been active in animal rescue both independantly and volunteering at my local shelter.

Music, Movies & Books

Film: The Innocents, No Country for Old Men, The Piano, The Pianist, The Sound of Music, Fanny and Alexander, Das Boat, Hostel, Babette's Feast, American Beauty, Sexy Beast, any kind of Zombie film no matter how lame.

Books: The Butcher Boy, The Poisonwood Bible, The Secret Life of Bees, Orwells 1984, The Other Boleyn Girl, the Harry Potter series. Anything about the PARANORMAL

Music: ecclectic tastes, classical Baroque, African, 80s "alternative/punk" not so keen on jazz or country, and for some reason I actually do like Rap... hmmm?

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Pogues concert, St. Paddies day, Brixton Acadamy, London 1987. Haile Selassie birthday celebration,12 Tribes, Rasta headquarters, Shashamane Ethiopia 2001. 12 days from Budapest/Beijing TransSiberian railway on black market Soviet ticket 1990.

Working as a sheepdog in S. Wales 1988.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would like to share with potential travelers to Greece, that they may seriously want to reconsider. There are many reasons not travel there. A trip to Greece can easily turn into a nightmare, specially for those who care about animals and the environment. I will never forget or forgive the horrors and atrocities I witnessed by the Greek people.

Countries I've Visited

Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, Mexico, Mongolia, Puerto Rico, Romania

Countries I've Lived In

Ethiopia, Greece, Hungary, Russian Federation, United Kingdom, United States, Uzbekistan
