ABOUT ME

I'm an American Filmmaker of Sudanese/Mexican descent seeking to build with filmmakers in the Mid-East. I have a strong passion for Writing, Directing and Acting with a plan to utilize my background in the US and Middle East to develop Arabic/English content viable in a ever-changing global film market.

I'm also an avid audiophile/DJ, with an emphasis on old school, hip hop, soul, funk, jazz, acid jazz, and reggae. I will make a party crack and some asses shake no doubt.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was fortunate enough to find some last minute accommodations in Abu Dhabi recently. Dale Yost, a couch surfing vet, was hospitable enough to take me in under short notice and show me the ropes a bit. Definitely a great intro into the world of couch surfing.

Interests

I'm a Cinephile obsessed with the art, theory, and execution of films. It's crucial to study the masters and understand the language of film through and through before really flourishing as an artist.

This applies to all things. It's so important to seek those that are the masters, the pioneers, those that you wish to emulate. In the process you will gain experience and develop your own voice. But learning the fundamentals are crucial!

Meeting new people, maintaining friendships, and expanding your social network is not simply a part of being a filmmaker but a part of getting the most out of life. I also try to complete my self-development and smash my own demons before really engaging with other people. If you can't love and respect yourself, how will anybody else??

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been very fortunate to get a world class education in California, getting my BA from Santa Barbara and a Masters from The American Film Institute. Very enriching experiences personally and practically.

Being of mixed race descent allowed me to travel and immerse myself in a rich mix of cultures. It has truly expanded my perspective on life!
