Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Hasmik Djoulakian and I'm a recent grad from Syracuse University. I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, reading, good conversations, and petting every dog I meet.
I've loved all the experiences I've had with Couchsurfing -- the amazing people I've met and friendships I've made.
Home for me right now is Syracuse, NY, where I work in education. I love what I do because I get to work with people of all ages and backgrounds -- young kids through colllege-age folks, and others in the community.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I often travel alone to new places, and I see Couchsurfing as an opportunity to meet friendly and awesome local people. Also, hostels can be expensive, and it's great that there is a community like this to support one another's travels.

I love to read - one of my favorite books is BodyMap by Leah Lakshmi.
As for movies, I like fantasy and period pieces, and '80s movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I organized and participated in an 18-day sit-in at my school to demand better mental health services and more sexual assault advocacy, among other issues.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn about how to build more sustainable practices into my daily life, and how to do craft projects.
I can share my love of poetry, talk about my research in college. Always eager to talk about politics.
