About Me

Hi! My name is Hattie, and I am a 22 year old college graduate (Reed College class of 2019, I majored in History). I love hiking, backpacking, BIKE-packing, climbing, and most other outdoor activities! I also love taking care of people and learning new things. I am a bike-mechanic and currently work as an artist in a ceramic tile factory. While at Reed I worked on campus doing natural area restoration, so I am super knowledgable about the ecology of the pacific northwest! I work hard to be outgoing and enthusiastic about getting to know new people, but I am a natural introvert and an avid reader.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Carpe-Diem! Couchsurfing is a great way to meet new people, have fun adventures, share knowledge, and make the best of everyday. I'm also trying to save money to leave the united states for the first time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Recent Favorites: "The Stand" Stephen King, "A Bigger Splash" movie directed by Luca Guadagnino, "Los Espookeys" TV Show, "The Mystery Guest" by Grégoire Bouillier, "Mason & Dixon" by Thomas Pynchon, "The Crying of Lot 49" by Thomas Pynchon, "Rising" by Elizabeth Rush.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last weekend I summited South Sister for the second time! I also think that graduating college is pretty awesome :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: bike mechanics, gardening, native northwest plants.

Learn: new languages, how to travel outside the U.S. bike-touring, new recipes!

Share: good food, love and companionship, intellectual discussions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great vegetarian cooking: some of my go-to's are palak paneer (I make the cheese by hand), grilled eggplant with hummus and tahini made from scratch, and my favorite– mexican pozole.

I love helping around the house, doing small home-improvement projects, cleaning projects, and even plumbing and electrical projects! (I would always help my dad fix anything and everything that broke in our house growing up)
