About Me

I am currently a French and Spanish teacher, but taking a break from the profession at the end of the academic year and using the opportunity to do some travelling.
I am friendly, kind, reliable (and clean!). I love to meet new people and experience as much as I can from a country when I visit. I prefer to travel alone or in a small group so that I can spend as much time with the local people and get to know the place as well as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am hoping to meet friendly people who might be able to show me around a bit (or recommend places to me). Although I would respect their personal space and privacy of course!
I have heard great things about couch surfing so would love to try it out for myself.

Interests

I love music (two of my best friends are musicians), so go to a lot of gigs in London. I also love going to galleries and museums and am really interested in Surrealist cinema and art.
I love to experience new cultures just by walking around and getting a feel of the place, and I love the sunshine. Having a nice meal or drink outside on a beautiful day is my favourite way to spend an afternoon.
(I'm also a big Arsenal fan.)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all sorts of music. It depends what mood I'm in really.
My favourite artists at the moment are The Japanese House, the Mystery Jets, Kanye West, Howlin' Woolf, Marika Hackman, Chance the Rapper and Drake.
My favourite books are 'Candide' by Voltaire, 'El siglo' by Javier Marias, 'Winnie the Pooh' by A. A. Milne and 'The Remains of the Day' by Kazuo Ishiguro.
My favourite films are '2001: A Space Odyssey', the 'Back to the Future' trilogy, 'Persona', 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Rear Window' and most things by Wes Anderson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my third year at university I moved to Chile where I lived for 6 months. When I arrived I didn't know anyone and was on the other side of the world to everyone I love. But I managed to find a job and an amazing family who treated me like their daughter and who are visiting me in London next month.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been a teacher for two years at a tough comprehensive school in London so I have learnt a lot and can teach pretty much any kind of character something!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am tidy, clean and a good cook. I am fluent in 3 languages and friendly to anyone I meet. I am happy to share my knowledge and good humour with anyone who would like to know me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Spain
