I love to read, garden, sing, play violin, and cook. I grew up in a house of 6 kids so I'm used to a full house and sharing space with all kinds of individuals. I love meeting people and getting to know their story. I try to live a conscientious life and do my best to be patient, compassionate, and open minded. I highly value honesty and communication.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My sister had a positive experience using Couchsurfing while traveling and I'm grateful so many wonderful people hosted her (especially when she was down on her luck) so I'd like to give back to the community for that.

I love meeting people on their travels and learning about where they've been, where they're going, where they come from, etc...

Due to our work and family responsibilities, we are only able to host one or two guests a month, so please give advance notice and please be understanding if we are unable to honor your request.

That being said, I also understand that life throws curveballs and sometimes you just need a roof over your head for a night or two. So don't be afraid to contact me if you find yourself in a pickle.

Interests

I write and sing my own music (with mediocre piano skills), I love jamming out on my violin be it folk, jazz, rock, or electronic music, and I sing with a cover band in town called GrooveBot.

We built a small garden in the back yard using only recycled materials for the beds, fence, etc.. We also have a herb/aromatics garden in front that is slowly coming together.

I love reading. I've been on a bit of a fantasy kick lately, but I'll read anything from Austin to Kundera, Steinbeck to Kinsella. I just finished The Sun Also Rises for the first time and I'm impatiently waiting for Brandon Sanderson and Patrick Rothfuss to put out their next books.

I love to cook, I love gathering people in my home and feeding them, and I love discovering new ingredients and recipes.
