ABOUT ME

It's always a bit awkward to describe oneself but here's the straightforward version. I love all things about people and society (psychology, politics, sociology, religion, languages, arts etc.) and also the Middle East and Arabic in particular. I live in Beirut where I work for the Swedish Embassy in political affairs/Arabic interpretation.

As a person I'm open-minded and always up for doing stuff. I try to be a good person, and I guess trying is a good start! I like being helpful and sharing and teaching others the things I love. I love getting to know people, seeing new things etc.

I have a passion for dancing (partnered dancing, especially lindy hop/jitterbug, a 1930's jazz dance). I also love teaching in all forms. I also love working out and being outdoors in the woods or the mountains or by the sea. Other hobbies are drama, art, computers, philosophy, history and trying to understand how the world works in general.

In Beirut I'm particularly hoping to find the local dancing scene, nice projects/groups/volunteering in the areas of politics/community/psychology/teaching and people to speak Arabic to and show me Lebanese culture. I am also looking for a 3oud teacher in the (vain) hope of learning to play some Marcel Khalife :D

I can teach you swing dance (lindy hop), guitar, basic Arabic. I can also be a great gym/work-out partner since I will shout at you until your muscles are bleeding.

I want to learn to play the 3oud, new types of dancing (salsa, arabic traditional dancing) and MORE ARABIC!
