Über mich
Hi my name is Hawthorn
I am a creative person, I love variety so I usually have 3-4 jobs at a time as well as twice as many hobbies - I have a habit of taking on far too many creative projects !
I love meeting new people and learning something about the things they are passionate about!
I thrive off deep connection whether that be with the food I’m cooking , the film I watch , the conversations I have or walking barefoot in the forest. I can be very outgoing but I find surface level interaction a bit draining so sometimes I need to retreat to nature to recharge my energy.
I used Couchsurfing for the first time in 2024 in Italy and fell in love with the community, if you want to restore your faith in humanity and the impact of connection then CS is the way to do it !
⭐️Current plans : I am not able to do a long trip this year but I’m doing lots of little ones instead: the first is with my awesome mum ! I’m excited to share with her the magic of Couchsurfing and of Rome with her. She is a life coach, very wise and spiritual but also deeply childish and silly, loves anything out doors / most forms of exercise and like me she thrives off real connection with people, she is the best person I know.
Me as a surfer:
I’m clean, honest and I respect peoples boundaries. I’m so grateful for my hosts for trusting me in their homes and understand this is no small feat, so I always try to treat their homes with love. If there is anything we can do to make you feel more comfortable please don’t hesitate to ask 🧡

Musik, Filme und Bücher
I like most music and genres if it suits the mood I’m in. I’m trying to read more this year: I have been really enjoying Japanese authors like Kazuo ishiguro and Hanako Footman who wrote Mongrel - Favourite book this year. Also been getting into the classics like Anna Karenina.
I love movies anything that is beautifully made or unique. I’d love to trade suggestions for films :)
Books I’ve read recently-
the island of missing trees
To kill a mockingbird
Hybrid humans
Anna Karenina
Never let me go
Mongrel
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I think the most amazing things are found in the mundane details of life you just have to actually be aware to notice them. If you expect life to be predictable it will be - expect miracles or better yet have 0 expectations -this is where the magic happens.
But to answer the actual question… hmm I have kept all my house plants alive that’s kind of incredible.
Have hiked to glacier lakes in Canada - not actually that difficult but I don’t get enough exercise so it’s amazing that I made it up there !
Lehren, lernen, teilen
My native tongue is English but I’m learning Italian on and off.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
I like to cook and I’m happy to share :) or clean up for you !
