About Me

I'm a college student and Spanish teacher that is ready to take on the world! I love exploring new places, learning new things, and meeting new people. It is my goal to change the world, and to leave this earth a better place than when I arrived. I love people, and I consider my friends to be my family. I am very international, and it's normal to find me conversing with a group of friends from South America in Portuguese, Spanish, and English--all at once!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see the world and meet awesome people! I love to make friends for life and share my culture as I learn about others' cultures. This is my goal for my two months in Europe...

Interests

I love showing kindness to others, learning languages, traveling, dancing, going to the beach, exercising, listening to music, teaching, and meeting people who will become lifelong friends. I love being busy and always having something fun to do!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: almost anything...merengue, Nicky Jam, Carla Morrison, cumbia, salsa, Romeo Santos, Prince Royce, Noizy, Tuna Sedjiu, INNA, George Ezra, contemporary, Juan Luis Guerra...(anything that makes me want to dance!)
Movies/Shows: Pride and Prejudice, El Gran Hotel, Las Galerias Velvet, La Misma Luna, Lucy
Books: The Poisonwood Bible, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Kite Runner

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've spent a couple of weeks in Israel on a student exchange trip, hosted by Israeli students. Had to make a few trips to bomb shelters...lots of rockets came our way. I've also spent a total of 9 weeks in the Dominican Republic. I learned my Spanish there and have been "adopted" into the family and community I stay in. Everyone introduces me as their daughter, niece, or granddaughter. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

This June, I will obtain my TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification, which will allow me to teach English anywhere in the world! I'm a reading tutor for young kids, and will be the Spanish teacher for a home school for high schoolers next year. I love learning and sharing all languages, cultures, food, and dance. I love fellowship and living life day to day with others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my love for the world and for people. My happiness is contagious and I love putting smiles on others' faces. When others are happy, I'm happy! I'd love to share anything about my home, my life, my culture and experiences, as well as help teach/ practice English and Spanish!
