PHILOSOPHY

Traveling is based on being alone.
When I have to decide something to do on my various ways, I've wondered whether I know perfectly who I am. Through traveling, I want to know who I am, what I want, where I go, and when I feel. It's completely basic steps to live my own life. I desire to learn something that I cannot learn from books; senses to make appropriate decisions.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I value on meeting "locals" where I travel more than on sightseeing; locals could be people in where I travel or places where local people normally go. Because I think travel is beyond just taking pictures of famous sites which are in Google. Rather I hope to have my own stories with people who I may have a chance to spend time together. If you can be welcomed in a totally new place, I consider it's a blessing to sip a life that I couldn't imagine. What an awesome this connection - couchsurfing!

I have still connected with people that I met through couchsurfing, it makes my daily life be kept in feelings of travel. It is speechlessly thankful.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

# Traveling Chile
I met a great friend who is from Chile, when I attended a university in Kansas. I was an exchange student with other Korean students and he was a foreign student among classmate. By inviting him to our dinner tables for Korean food, he adopted to Korean culture so fast, and it was great plesure to my friends and me. We got fun a lot, and we was so sad that we couldnt see each other any more after finishing the semester which we were supposed to stay. But the thing is, finally I got Chile thanks to him! We had fun with his family. Even I cannot speak in Spanish well when I was in there, it was clear that I was participating to sip their own culture. It's been amazing lessons for my own views of life.

# Taking TESOL course in Manhattan
I've took a TESOL course for 6 weeks in Manhattan, NY. I've met so many great relationship through this course and got meaningful lessons. When I've taught someone through my lesson, I really tried to help someone to understand. I needed to think of ways to think. It was great time for myself!

# Participating in "Wilco concert" at 2012 Celebrate Brooklyn as a volunteer!
I applied to be a volunteer of Wilco Benefit concert which was performanced in Celebrate Brooklyn. Even the concert was not for free, all seats were sold-out, some seats were priced over 100 bucks. Plus, at that day, it was rainy. However, it was AWESOME! Around Prospect park located on Brooklyn, no one moved to go out, music was speechless, of course, with the wonderful sound of rain, I felt that moment fully. I cannot forget ever!

# Giving a presentation at Hill city, Kansas
I was a international student at Fort Hays State Uni. which is located on Hays, Kansas. As a field trip, I visited a small "town", Hill City, to give a presentation in there elementary school and high school. Students of Hill city had clearly no idea about internationals. Though we prepared lots of materials by Prezi, we just spoked the presentation. It was so meaingful to me, and the kids were really sweet.

Sharing each one's own stories makes our life profound. I want to meet people that I can listen to. If the person needs my attention to hear that, it's honor to me, and also I think it has healing effects to both of us. I believe in the Power of Stories.
