About Me

Hi, welcome to my profile! :-)

I have been using Couchsurfing since 2017 when I embarked on my first solo trip to Norway during my university summer vacation. And since then, I have used it on multiple occasions (not everytime!) for my trips elsewhere. Thus far, I've had the pleasure of meeting hosts and fellow CS users in Norway, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, China and Indonesia and hope that this list grows as much as my heart yearns.

Since May 2025, I have quit my full-time civil service job to take a break and hope to connect with others around the world on the trips I take during this time of nourishing my youth and life :-)

A little bit about myself:
I love art, movies, animation, books, photography, interior design and furniture. Traveling overseas for concerts is also a hobby of mine... well at least whilst I have the purchasing power hah.
As I can't cook, apologies to my future hosts!

It can take a while for me to warm up especially to strangers so do give me some time. I also tend to run out of social energy pretty quickly - something my friends have noticed as well, oops.

Some of my best travel stories often involved unexpected encounters with locals and travelers who were gracious and kind enough to shower me with love and care.
- I remember having my couchsurfing request accepted, only to be told on the arrival day itself, just before reaching the place, that it was my host's wedding day.
- Funnily enough, on my first night at my host's place, I was told her boss had invited me to their company BBQ in two days' time. Talk about deja vu.
- In another instance, I had managed to hitchhike from one place to another, only to be invited by the driver to stay overnight at their house since it was getting dark. And yeah, I did not expect to spend the night somewhere on a mountainside. (This almost sounds like the start of a horror/thriller movie)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it is the best way to experience a new country; from the locals themselves.

And most importantly, to one day, return the favour by helping other backpackers through hosting or what not.
