About Me

I am a writer, photographer, teacher and former fundraiser for arts non-profits. I have been teaching abroad for the last year and, returning to Los Angeles in the Fall 2015.

I love to travel and, also once lived in France and Ireland. I have visited several countries within Europe.

I have lived in LA on two other occasions, so I am familiar with the city.

I've lived in several other states too! So, I consider myself to be quite malleable and open.

I am clean, respectful, mature, responsible adult who is sensitive to my environment. I love stories and adventure, so always interested in meeting new people.

I, also, tend to keep to myself. In other words, I am very independent. So, I am accustomed to solitude and quite comfortable in quietness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After a year abroad in Asia, I am returning the the US in October. I am looking for a safe and clean place to stay (short-term) until I can get my feet firmly planted again.

I will be returning to LA with my kitten (rescued while living abroad) . Sadly, I cannot stay with my sister upon my return. She and her husband own five pets. So, there simply isn't room for me and my pet too.

I am extremely nervous about this transition back to the USA and with unexpected cat in tow! Ideally, I would need to find a place that has a separate room (not literally a couch situation). I, also, could not stay somewhere that had animals (other dogs or cats). This would be quite stressful for my animal. So, you must be an animal lover!! My kitten is very loving and affectionate. So, I kindly ask for someone to help me out for a couple of days to potentially a week. Honestly, I just need a quite, safe, clean, and calm place to be with my cat while I get oriented again. I will then move to a friends house for a few months. Just need a little breathing time, before I go there! :)

Interests

My interests are varied: writing, film/photography, travel, architecture, contemporary art, education, philosophy, literature, outdoor activities/nature, exploring unknown places etc...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many years ago, I departed Los Angeles to live in a small, village in rural Maine. While there, I lived in a beautiful house in a small apple orchard. I, often, look back on that time in my life and marvel at the natural beauty there, surviving the winter with a little wood burning stove and meeting all sorts of local characters. While I eventually left to lack of opportunities with employment, I will never forget the sense of community that such a place breaths, sleeps and awakens to each day.
