I’m working abroad for a year so I really want to make the most of living in a different culture and seeing what it has to offer. Something I’m keen to work on this year is to push myself outside of my comfort zone, and I hope CS will provide opportunities to do that.
I love learning about other cultures and I find it interesting to compare between what I’m used to and how someone else makes their way in life.

I joined this site to try and meet new people as I’m working abroad for a year with the hopes of travelling afterwards, so it may be I don’t fully utilise it until that time comes but hopefully once I’m travelling it will be fun to meet new people☺️

兴趣

I love keeping active and healthy whether that’s going to gym or a Pilates/yoga class!

I’ve also been playing the piano since I was 8 and I just find it so relaxing whenever I’m stressed out. It’s given me such a huge appreciation for music, especially classical and I’d love to talk about people’s favourite musicians and how they feel when listening to it!

Music: Peace are probably my favourite band but like most people, my music taste is so varied that there is no other way to explain it - I can go from listening to Tchaikovsky to Queen and then to Half Moon Run and Arctic Monkeys. I also LOVE movie soundtracks and like going to orchestral concerts where they play scores live - so far I’ve seen 3/3 HP movies available to me and seeing the 4th in November! I’m also seeing Star Wars live in September which should also be amazing (as you can tell I am a massive nerd)

Books: I’m a complete bookworm and I’m just trying to rotate between classic and then a light read! My favourite classics are (anything) by Jane Austen, Dracula, Jane Eyre and my favourite contemporaries are The Night Circus and The Book Thief (again not super cultured in this department)

Movies: I'm not going to pretend I'm a massive film buff and can list my favourite directors but I'm generally easy going and will watch anything.

When I was younger I went to Finland and went dog sledding and ski-dooing! I'm a winter baby at heart.

I do love to cook and bake so I would happily try and make some meals and maybe some treats for my host! If you have a keyboard/piano handy I could also teach you a few tunes as I’ve been playing for over 10 years!
