About Me
I am a psychotherapist & educator in Colorado who has lived a pretty spectacular life so far and am always looking for a new adventure. I have been married for 25 years to an amazing man, and we have two grown sons who are now on their own adventures.
I have traveled since I was quite young and am someone who is attracted to places and experiences that are slightly off the beaten path, perhaps a bit quirky, and if there a chance to learn something...even better!
I am fortunate to love most everything about my life so far: my family, where I live, my work, and the many volunteer opportunities I have had over the years. I make it a point to always have at least one volunteer project going, and sometimes more. Currently, I am working with high school students to train them to become peer counselors within their school as well as to be effective activist for causes they truly believe in. Additionally, I volunteer with a local theatre, making props, building sets, acting as production manager, and helping backstage.
As for work, I have my own therapy practice where I see clients in their homes, at their work, and sometimes even in a park or on a hike. I am also a speaker at conferences and an educator for nonprofit organizations and schools. I believe that mental health is as important as physical health. In the past 5 years, I also have side-work of helping others arrange Gap Years. It started after I helped my own sons create phenomenal Gap Years in between high school and college, and then expanded to helping friends of all ages. Imagine if everyone traveled and got out of their comfort zone a bit...there'd likely be a lot more tolerance and accountability in the world!
When I travel, I love to wander neighborhoods, find good used bookstores & thrift shops, sample local food & drink and learn the history of an area. If there is water (ocean/lake), hiking, botanic gardens, live music or farmer's markets nearby, that's where you might find me!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After helping others plan their travel by using couchsurfing and other resources, I felt it was time I joined in for my own experiences. Staying with someone who knows the area is much more valuable than staying in a sterile hotel and not interacting with others. I look forward to hosting folks who are interested in exploring Colorado as well as getting to know other couchsurfers in my own travels.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to all sorts of music, depending on my mood...with the exception of country. If I had to choose favorites, I would say jazz, blues, caravan and old-school rock. However, I equally enjoy punk, musicals, bluegrass, folk and classical!
Movies are a huge love of mine. From
