About Me
CURRENT MISSION
seeing the world, one couch at a time.
ABOUT ME
The basics, I guess: I'm a student, I've grown up in one city and want to explore others, I'm happiest with a camera in my hand, and I'm not entirely sure what I want to do when I grow up (whenever I get around to it)
I'm never sure what to put in these things; I worry that I'm either going to say too little and come off as some sort of robot or that I'm going to overshare and find myself walking hand in hand with someone on a beach or something equally goofy.
As a result, I tend to put quotes from books I like in this box, and this is no exception:
"In this world, there are things you can only do alone, and things you can only do with somebody else. It's important to combine the two in just the right amount."

PHILOSOPHY
I guess there are two quotes I use as guiding principles:
"Be conservative in what you do; be liberal in what you accept from others." — Jon Postel, RFC 793.
"I think you can tell if someone has a good heart if you can easily visualize them as a child. If you can't, they're usually evil." — Jackie Wong

Music, Movies, and Books
There are a lot of artists and books, but I'm not really a movie guy. I'll keep it to ten, here:
Music: Okkervil River, Bjork, Ellen Allien, The Wrens, Explosions in the Sky, Neutral Milk Hotel, Autechre, The National, Joanna Newsom, Spoon.
Books: Catch-22, Transmetropolitan, The Elements of Typographic Style, How To Eat, The Complete Calvin and Hobbes, Pattern Recognition, Cloud Atlas, Consider the Lobster, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Infinite Jest.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Standing on the roof of a football stadium watching the sun set behind a stage that I'd helped put together while a band performed for ten thousand screaming fans at a concert I'd worked on organizing with a bunch of people who have become my closest friends; it was one of those moments where a lot of hard work and great people came to fruition.
Teach, Learn, Share
photography, baking, a small amount of graphic design.
