About Me

I appreciate good food and coffee, an interesting book, music in my ears and to spend time with friends as well as "frengers" (an expression from a Danish band called Mew, meaning not quite a friend but not quite a stranger).

I always go for being comfortable, and I don't care about being teased with sometimes wearing socks in my sandals - it is comfortable!

I do not appreciate rushing at anytime - especially not in the morning time. Breakfast is my favorite meal and I love dwelling a bit over it.

Travelling is great fun but also hard work, and I sometimes just need to stare at the wall for a while. I always come back with renewed energy and focus on being present where I am.

I do enjoy going out for a beer once in a while and I love dancing and attending concerts, but I no longer have a great need to party all night long, so please don't expect me to get wasted and dance topless on the bar.

When I travel I always make sure that I have good time for chilling around, just being there and making room for spontaneous turns.

After having spent most of 2012 and 2013 in Iceland, living there, working in a coffee house and having a fabulous time, I moved back to lovely Copenhagen, where I have been studying and working since.

I was out of Denmark in all of 2015. First spending 4 weeks in Malaysia and Singapore, then being an exchange student in Tasmania and finally travelling around Australia and New Zealand for the rest of the year.

After one year back in Denmark, I felt the need to go abroad again and so I went on exchange in Finland. The semester has just ended and I am now traveling home through Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is a great way of meeting new people and travel. You get off the main road and get to see the smaller alleys. When I think back on my travels, I like that I can associate many places with certain people, who I got to know because of Couchsurfing. The memories become very personally grounded in that way.

The last three years have been a lot about traveling and couchsurfing has given me some wonderful experiences and precious memories. It hasn't been possible for me to host anyone yet due to a severely packed apartment. However, I am looking forward to welcoming couchsurfers into my home later this year.

Interests

I enjoy reading, running, cooking, drawing, painting, sleeping, knitting and listening to music. Too bad it can't all be done at the same time. However audio books do make some of it possible.

I grew up with with very active parents and I am following in their footsteps, meaning that I am always up for doing some sort of sport. I have played handball for many years (a great sport, which is sadly unknown in most of the world) and basketball on and off.

I like hiking, swimming and hot yoga as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

"The Lord of the Rings" trilogy (again and again and again), "Earth's Children" (the Ice Age suddenly becomes pretty cool), the Harry Potter books (always the first book to read in a new language), the books in "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, "Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" is simply entertaining. "Steppenwolf" and "Siddhartha" by Hermann Hesse made me think a lot about life and happiness.

I love discovering new music, but I have a solid base which I always return to. It consists of Pink Floyd, Bjórk, Tom Waits, Sigur Rós, Nick Cave and various Scandinavian reggae bands.

I am a big fan of all the old Disney films, and I am proud to say that I know most of the Disney songs by heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking through most of New Zealand without encountering any seriously dodgy drivers. It reinforces my faith in humankind.
