ABOUT ME

Hello my name is Heidi! I am 28 years old and joined this site because I often travel around Texas to pursue my career. I studied Art and Theatre at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO and now work on TV shows and Film in the Art Dept. .
I am very into Art and enjoy many forms of creative output like Theatre, film and music. I am a HUGE animal lover, I have two cats and a German Shepherd dog. One of my cats is 19 years old, I have had her since I was 9 years old! Even though I have pets, I do get mild allergies around strange animals, especially cats. I usually choose to sleep somewhere that the animals are not.

In between film jobs I work at a Sushi restaurant as a delivery drivers. I really enjoy this job because I love Asian cuisine and talking to people. My boyfriend Adam is a sushi chef at the same restaurant, so that makes work a lot more interesting.

All around I am very easy-going. Some people have called me a "Bohemian" because I am artsy and dress sort of eclectically. But I think I am hard to pin down. For those psychology nerds, my Myers-Biggs Personality is INFP.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this site but I am open to being involved in groups and attending social events, while occasionally surfing. As soon as I have my own place I want to be a host.

When I travel I am a typical tourist -- I love Museums, local events, shopping, learning local folklore and eating at unique restaurants. I am also into Letterboxing, which is similar to Geocaching, so I love the outdoors.
When at home I enjoy "chillaxing" on the couch, watching TV and Movies, playing with Pets, and cooking. I enjoy playing video games (Nintendo anyone?) and card games. I usually spend way too much time browsing the internet, but this year I have forced myself to get back into reading books. (My goal was to read 24 books this year, I am at 19.)

I enjoy many genres of film, but my favorites are typically fantasy, supernatural or dramas.

Recently enjoying the TV Shows "Project Runway," and "Mr. Selfridge,"

Some of my favorite Films: Back to the Future, Star Wars, Miyazaki Films, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I also like absurd comedies like Young Frankenstein and Monty Python.

My taste in music is all over the place from alternative rock, pop, and symphonic metal, some of my favorite bands/singers are Sonata Arctica, Secret Sphere, Journey, Daniel Bedingfield, Erasure, Vertical Horizon, Blue October, Nightmare of You, Nothing More, The Offspring... the list goes on and on

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Traveled to Japan (Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Tokyo) in June 2011 with my Japanese teacher and fellow students. I visited both Shinto Shrines and Buddhist Temples, went to the Hiroshima Peace Park and Museum, Tokyo Disneyland and Ghibli Museum.
