About Me

I'm an upbeat, affable Brit who enjoys nothing more than good conversation with interesting people. I love meeting new people from all over the world and travelling as much as I can (afford!) attempting to sate my curiosity for new/exciting things. I can most often be found laughing and being silly, but love a deep chat too, ideally accompanied by a glass of something delicious, and/or a beautiful view.

After graduating from university in 2014 I didn't know what to do with my life so I said F all and bought a one-way ticket to Mexico. I spent the next eight months travelling, working and volunteering my way down the continent all the way to Argentina. I fell in love with Buenos Aires, where I ended up settling for a little over three years. I'm now back in my native London studying for a masters degree in social policy, while also working PT at a small charity.

Wherever I am and whatever I'm doing, I'll always be happy to meet people who have a lot to share - I’ve benefited so much from Couchsurfing over the years! Now I’m back in my home country I would love to return the kindness offered to me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I go to a new place I prefer not to be a tourist - you have a much richer experience if you try and immerse yourself as fully as possible and live life as much as you can like a local. There's nothing more satisfying than making new friends who you can share your own culture and experiences with, while absorbing their own at the same time! I think it's a fantastic project, particularly as it encourages so much cross-cultural interaction. Wooh Couchsurfing!

Interests

Music (especially funk, soul and disco - I was born in the wrong era..), politics, foreign languages, reading, writing, yoga, film, hitchhiking, sunsets, Italian ice-cream, Argentinian red wine, dancing (badly), and sleeping under the stars.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Celebrating día de los muertos in Mexico City with a huge Mexican family
- Watching the 14th of July fireworks over the rooftops of Paris from a friend's rooftop in Montmartre
- Watching the sun rise over the Nicaraguan highlands from the top of an active volcano
- Sleeping under a blanket of stars on a deserted beach in Uruguay
- Hitchhiking from Cancún to Mexico City

What I Can Share with Hosts

Languages! I speak four, and am happy to teach/help with any of them. I also love to talk about literature, film and current affairs, and sharing the many stories I've accumulated over the course of my travels.
