About Me

My name is Heidi, I'm 24 and I live in San Antonio, Texas in a house with my bother, mother, dad, as well as our three pets...2 dos and a cat.
My dog's name is Bella, which is Italian for beautiful, (I was about to name her Belle after the Disney character), my brother's dog's name is Chekov, after the Russian writer, and my brother's cat's name is Inky, (We have had other animals and I have named some of them after music artists...My favorite kind of music artists to name pets after are Rock artists, since I love Rock-and-roll music.
I am really into music, reading, and hanging out with my friends and family.
For the time being, I'm currently getting a major in both Spanish and Russian, but I’d really like to be a private Spanish teacher because I want to inspire and motivate people to be just as eager to learn about this beautiful language and it's people, history, and culture/s more than they would have. Every day I am more and more encouraged and eager to know interesting people, and teaching Spanish is a great asset when it comes to doing this..
My native tongue, English, as well as other ways of speech, have been a very important part of my life. Studying languages can really open up your eyes and it can also show you so much more than if you just live with one tongue and one tongue only. You can feel that you are part of something big and so beautiful by getting to know others through another language.
So much in this world is out there to see and I'm more than ever willing to open up more of my mind to it, and not just stay within the military when it comes to traveling the world...I grew up moving all over the place because my dad was in the military, but I just want to see the world for myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on CS because I really want to live out my dream of traveling the world, (I have always wanted to visit one of the most beautiful places of my ancestors, Scotland, more than anywhere else to be totally honest), so when I was just, "Shopping around the net", I stumbled across this beautiful site, but even though I have been a member since 2011, I was a bit shy to use it, so this is gonna be my very first time on CS.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love listening to music, especially Rock bands from the seventies through nineties, (A lot of people don't think that I'm the type of person that likes this sort of stuff for some strange reason, especially my friends), such as the BeeGees, beatles, ACDC, Aerosmith, and many, many others.
I also love movies from the eighties, (I really don't have the opportunity to watch many of them but would like to), nineties, and early 2000s.
Some of my favorite movies are the little Mermaid 1 and 2, Beauty and the Beast, The harry Potter movies, and whenever they are on, and when my other faves are on, I watch them.
I'm not into movies from today all that much, so I really love to go down memory lane and watch the ones that I know I will enjoy forever and ever.
Reading has been one of the most relaxing things to do in my life, so whenever I get the chance to, I just read, especially British literature.
I love to read books from William Shakespeare, Jane Austen novels, the Harry Potter Saga, (When I was just 11 years old I completed all five of them in a year), and a hundred more, but British Literature is my favorite type of literature

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to go and climb a huge set of steps at an Italian church, named the Santa Maria de la Grazia, in Milan, Italy a few years ago.
I got to see some of the most beautiful History in my life.
All this stair climbing has made me realize that I need to do some more exercise because once I got done going up and down the steps I was dying.
I really want to do more amazing things like see beautiful colors from some of the most beautiful landscapes, climb mountains in exotic lands far and wide, and so much more.

Teach, Learn, Share

Even though I'm a learner, I'm also a teacher, but with that, also comes learning.
I'm really wanting to learn more about everybody and every place I visit and teach what I learned to others again. Nobody is done learning, and nobody is ever done teaching.
To me it's a beautiful cycle in life.
Nothing is more meaningful to an American than sports, especially baseball. For those of you who don't know baseball, you can google it.
Even though I'm an American, sports are not really my thing, but I can maybe take you out to a ball game.
Spending time with my friends and family in a little café for some tea is what I like to do.
I love trying new things at cafés, (I’m actually a vegan in case you haven’t noticed), and I would love to try some ma-tes with people ( Argentine tea). I know what it is, I know how it is taken, so I would like to try some. Just drinking some coffee and tea, and perhaps one day, ma-tes with my friends and family is not just a, "Kind of thing to do to get out of the house”, but a very beautiful ritual.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer up very good conversations, drinks, perhaps (some ma-tes), and yummy treats from all over the world, especially from my Mother's country, Iran.
I love to cook, clean, and be tidy, because I feel it is a good way to show your host you respect and appreciate them.
