ABOUT ME

I am a 23 year old history student.

I spent the last two years in Birmingham and London studying. Life in the UK was amazing, but then I realised that nothing beats waking up in the morning when it's -20 degrees cold, and one must still wait for a couple of hours in order to see the sun rise. I also really missed seeing people trying to avoid contact with random strangers whenever possible, and rather spending their time at pubs, looking at their pints that cost 5 euros, if they're lucky. So I had to move back to Finland.

Ok just kidding, Finland is a beautiful place and Tampere is an amazing city!

So at the moment I'm studying history. Not the ideal choice for the cruel postmodern employment market, but I haven't really figured out what else to do.

But what I do know is that I love to travel and meet people from other cultures and share experiences!

Trying to host many people, get to know them and make new friends. Also trying to visit as many places as possible.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music: Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, Anathema, Swallow the Sun, Chopin. A lot of Finnish stuff. This is a cliché but I'm pretty open minded for all kind of music.

Books: Irvine Welsh, Mika Waltari, Stieg Larsson, Jens Lapidus. I haven't read that many non-academic books recently and I'm trying to get some old classics read.

Movies: Pretty much anything except some mindless teenager comedies. Some good ones that come to my mind: Inglourious Basterds, District 9, A Clockwork Orange, Pan's Labyrinth, Trainspotting

Tv shows: THE WIRE, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Family Guy, Da Ali G Show

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Moving to Birmingham without a flat or a job was pretty tough, but I'm quite happy I managed to get things in order.

I'm still waiting for my Madventures style backpacking trip across Asia that's going to be best thing I've ever done.
