Overview
About Me
My name is Heinrich (or Henry), and I just spend some months working so I can afford a few weeks of traveling through Japan on my own.
After that I'm going to start studying social education (or something similar) here in Germany. Before working at my current job I did a voluntary social year in a psychiatric hospital.
I'm a very open minded person and always try to meet new people as I find it interesting what other people do in their lives.
The reason for my journey is that I want to make the experience of beeing completely independent and responsible for myself and where I go and what I do for a while. I always wanted to visit Japan sometime in my life and now is the perfect opportunity to do so.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because it was recommended to me quite often by friends and also my cousin who did make good experiences here :) Also because I like the idea of meeting other people and see how they live in their homeland.
I think Couchsurfing a very good way to learn things about the culture of a country. The idea of getting some nice little tips and suggestions on what or what not to do, where to go and what not to miss, directly from people who know it best is something that brought me to here too.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a huge film fan so I basically like movies of any kind or genre as long as they are "good". As a cineast I love going to the cinema! :) My favorite genres are Sci-Fi, Drama/Comedy, Fantasy and also Horror. Some of my favorite movies are: Inception, Mr. Nobody and The Dark Knight. TV-Series are of intereset as well.
As for music, I like nearly all types of music. I do prefer, 80s and 90s rock and pop music, also do enjoy some metalbands but I'm definitely open for other stuff aswell. Going to music festivals is something I also enjoy very much.
When it comes to books, I'm not a bookworm to be honest. I read some books in my life and enjoy reading here and there but it's not one of my favorite acitivies. I grew up with and love all the Harry Potter books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Don't know what to write here exactly, so I just wanna say that one of my favorite experiences in my life was sailing on a boat with 20 people in the Netherlands on the "IJsselmeer" for a week. The freedom I felt in that time was just something unique.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer you my help/support at some daily tasks or help you with other things you maybe could need some help for.
I can teach you some german or tell you things about Germany in generall or how it was working in the psychiatric hospital. Even I'm not a native English speaker I speak it quite fluently :) I can also tell you how it was in Namibia, the Netherlands or the other countries I have visited in my life.
And of course I like to share my love for movies and pop-culture with like-minded people.
