Hello! I'm Helen. Currently living in Cincinnati, OH. Just graduated from uni where I double majored in Sociology and Asian Studies. Right now I'm working in retail, but I'm interested in teaching English in South Korea and Japan for a few years.

I lived abroad when I was growing up. First in Geneva, Switzerland for four years, then in Singapore for a year. It was such an amazing experience! From that point on, I knew I wanted to live abroad again, travel more and learn as many languages as possible!

When I'm not working or studying I'm watching Netflix (current favorite show is Stranger Things), walking my two dogs in the forest, online shopping for clothes/shoes/makeup I can't afford, perusing imgur/tumblr, reading a book, or catching up on my favorite beauty and fashion blogs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Planning a 3-week trip across Europe and wanted to find an affordable housing option. Since I'm traveling solo, it'd be nice to meet locals to find out what to do & see, where to eat, how to get around, etc... I'm visiting Copenhagen, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and London on this trip.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got lost on a mountain in China by myself when I was 14 with no money, no phone, and no knowledge of Mandarin. Oh, and I had no idea where I was staying (town or hotel). Managed to make friends with a lovely family who spoke enough English to direct me back to where I belonged!
