ABOUT ME
I moved from Miami to New York in early 2014. I only knew one person when I got here, my best friend Alex, whom I stayed with for the first several months. The plan was simple: get a job, find a place, then one year after arriving apply to school (so as to receive in-state tuition). Well, a little over a year later, I've met some pretty amazing friends and I am living in a typical Brooklyn apartment with 4 other people. I would be in school and working right now, had I not torn my ACL pretty badly last October. Currently I'm doing rehab for my knee, while waiting to have surgery in April. I wasn't going out much before because of the weather, for fear of slipping on ice with a bad knee. But now that the spring has arrived (-ish), I've been going out to eat and enjoying the city much more.
As for some background on myself, my ultimate goals in life are happiness and inner peace. I am a very open-minded, outgoing, and friendly person. Meeting new people and engaging in thought-provoking conversation are usual the ingredients to a pretty great night for me. I love traveling to new places, trying new foods, experiencing difference cultures, and making new friends. And on my down time I mostly write poetry, practice yoga, and read, often about psychedelics and consciousness.
PHILOSOPHY
Everything happens for a reason and our job isn't to find that reason, simply to learn and grow.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only couchsurfed on one occasion right around September of 2012. I was traveling to Atlanta with a close friend for the Counterpoint Music festival. Because we were traveling by car we arrived a night prior to the festival's camp ground opening and stayed that night on Carlos's couch. We had been driving all day and arrived rather late into the night, but Carlos stayed up and waited for us and was extremely hospitable. We talked and got to know him that night and had a really good first CS experience.
We also host CS's for Miami's annual Ultra Music Festival. My friends and I used to regularly attended Ultra Music Festival in late March and we've hosted people a few different years. The two girls and their brother from Minnesota were pretty fun group. We also hosted a guy from Canada, that we've kept in contact and have hosted in Miami on other occasions since. They were into our kind of music and knew how to have a fun time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled many time with a program called People To People. This program allowed me to make the most of my time in other countries. I repelled off a castle in Ireland, went peach pick in a farmers village in China, and got to see the breath taking view of England from the London Eye. Every adventure I have taken with them has taught me that in my travels I have to see, feel, taste, and, most importantly, learn as much as I can.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, China, Croatia, Cuba, Fiji, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, United Kingdom, United States
