Hi,
My name is Helena, I am from Barcelona (Spain, for now) and I have been living in Berlin for nearly 10 years. There's a lot of things I love about Berlin, but the ones that are keeping me from going away are the freedom and the open mind you can breathe through the city.

Far from a "party girl", I enjoy home-cooked meals and drinking beer with friends while talking about deep and shallow, and I love to laugh. I bike everywhere most of the time and I don't enjoy unknown, uncontrolled crowds, so I try to avoid them.

I work part time in an office and part time freelancing and studying in the fields of linguistics and technology, and I'm passionate about it, so feel free to ask away if you're interested!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I've had an open house policy for a very long time and I have hosted hundreds of people in my homes. Mostly friends and friends of friends who become friends to spread the circle wider.

Lately their travels don't end up here so much, so my couch is empty too often! I'll be happy to give it some more use.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I like music with traditional instruments (not electronic/techno music) and I like upbeat music of all sorts: rock, punk, ska, metal (epic and melodic mostly, but enjoy some heavy too), swing, jazz, traditional Brazilian music, some emotional pop and lots of oldies, the merrier it sounds the more I enjoy it. I gladly chill out on my own with classical music and good instrumental concerts.

For books and movies I find it harder to generalize, but I'm happy to talk live about them instead of summarizing some random opinions here.

I like easy things, so I try to make it all easy, for you and for me, and the entire human race.

In my opinion, the best way to do that is by being clear and honest in the output, and tolerant and open-minded in receiving any input. This makes me (and anyone doing that) very adaptable to cultural differences, just as long as my being (a working, independent woman with an open mind) is not a problem per se.
