About Me

I graduated from Glasgow University in 2014 with a BSc in psychology. Unsure of what I wanted to come next I trained in TEFL and decided to travel to Vietnam. From there I'm now traveling around the world for a little while until the temptation to go home to visit my dog becomes too much!
Still pretty new to couch surfing and not managed to host anyone yet, but people are more than welcome up in Edinburgh when I'm back!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Lots of recommendations from other friends and it seems like a nice way to meet people, get the insider information on a city and get out of crazy hostels for a night or two!

Interests

I'm a social person and love to meet new people, food's (usually) always good and I'm pretty open to new foods I've not tried! I love listening to music and treasure my battered old iPod! Currently getting the travel bug and enjoying seeing new places, I'm pretty good at getting lost and ending up in funny situations! Every bad situation has the potential for a great story!

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to work in a film, TV and music shop so really my selection should be "cooler" than it is.
My music taste changes as quickly as Scottish weather, but is generally pretty broad and I'm open to most genres and new bands I've not heard yet! My taste ranges from Black Keys, Ben Howard, Majestic Casual, Jessie Ware, Motown classics and so many more!
As for films there's a few (lot) of the "classics" I've never seen. I enjoy serious dramas as much as a cheesy comedy. Would probably put The Secret Life of Walter Mitty in the top list of films as it gave me the push to stop dreaming and start living!
Ah books! I used to read avidly, now find its slipped down my priorities. Went through an Orwell phase last year and currently reading Maya Angelou. Loving the fact that the old classics are often free ebooks that are great for long travels!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just biked the length of Vietnam on a Honda scooter! Definitely the best and most challenging thing I've ever done! There's some crazy stories from the trip and some incredible friends I've made along the way!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my great whisky knowledge that comes with being Scottish, lots of random trivia, and how to order basic foods in a few other languages! I have many stories that seem to start with "this weird thing happened to me" which I'm willing to share if people are interested, plus I love hearing other people's stories that make my life sound more normal!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Croatia, England, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Scotland, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State, Viet Nam
