Hei! I'm Helene :) norwegian with an english mum. I just started interrailing now in my break between graduating school and starting my 1 year military service. Socializing and exploring really brightens me up, so I hope to get to do loads of that on this journey.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

As a solo yet extroverted traveller, my main purpose is to socialize with others. Furthermore, what better than with locals who could give me their perspective of my destination and show me the culture and all the best activities. I guess the same reasons as most others on this site. I think it simply makes travel a lot more cozy, and gives me a sense of security, knowing I'm not all alone in the city.

兴趣

I'm interested in and want to try all things crafty. Everything from pottery to knitting and woodwork and so forth are things that I enjoy doing or really want to try. Especially sewing clothes is fantastic. Being outdoors is also a big joy of mine and big part of the norwegian culture. I've also dabbled quite a bit in debating, since it's great way to socialize and learn of the world and people's opinions. Though I don't spend as much time on my interests as I'd like. Being inside reading a comic or watching a series takes up more time than I'd like. Traveling is a way for me to focus more on what I love :) especially connecting with others.

音乐、电影和书籍

For music what I listen to the most is pop, rock, folk, jazz, funk and some classical. Some of my favourite artists and groups are the Cure, Olivia Rodrigo, Vashti Bunyan, Chappell Roan, the Smiths and Natalia Lafoucade.
For entertainment I enjoy manga, anime and the like. I've read and watched a whole lot with some favourites being Blue Period and Dr Stone.

Would be cool to have some grand thing here, but I wouldn't say I've had any experiences that lucrative. Though I suppose one thing people wouldn't expect of me is that I have several years experience of rifle shooting at a range.

I could teach you lots about norwegian culture and the language, some history too. If you happen to have kids and some face paint then I'd gladly paint, play with, and watch over them.
I can't say that I'd be able to whip you up some amazing dish, definitely lacking experience there unfortunately. However anything from cooking together to playing boardgames, going for walks or just chatting, I am more than up for. (No problem completely staying out of your hair too). I also just happened to bring some makrell i tomat and knekkebrød from Norway if you'd like to try the diet that our national outdoorsy hero eats when camping.
